Suwon Hwaseong Festival (수원화성문화제)
May 1, 2026 - November 1, 2026Overview
Hwaseong Haenggung, imbued with King Jeongjo’s grand vision and profound filial devotion, is renowned as the largest and most splendidly designed of Korea’s many temporary palaces. It is also regarded as a palace of exceptional beauty, rivaling Gyeongbokgung Palace. Suwon’s signature nighttime tourism program, the 2026 Hwaseong Haenggung Night Opening “Dalbit Hwadam (花談),” explores the theme “Stories of Flowers Beneath the Moonlight.” Through a variety of floral exhibition installations and enchanting lighting displays, it offers a night atmosphere that is both splendid and serene. As you follow the flower-lined paths blooming quietly beneath the gentle lights, you can experience the atmosphere of the past, nature, and the spirit of the Joseon Dynasty, as if stepping back through time.
